Unemployment in Brazil hits record low

Brazil’s jobless tally — 6.7 percent — is the lowest since 2002, the year the government began keeping track. And it looks like that number keeps dropping. December’s unemployment was estimated at just 5.3 percent—the lowest for the year. More of those workers than ever were employed in the formal economy, with 46.3 percent of people working on the books.
