Reforming the nation’s immigration laws is likely to be a  top priority  for President Barack Obama in his second term in office. An immigration overhaul could eventually lead to millions of illegal immigrants becoming U.S. citizens.
Katherine Tabares  is an undocumented immigrant living in New York City and studying political science at LaGuardia Community College. She moved to the United States from Colombia three years ago. She plans to attend law school in hopes of defending herself and her family if the need ever arises.
