Senator Mitch McConnell has held one of Kentucky’s U.S. Senate seats since 1985. He is one of the most senior members of the Senate, and has been minority leader since January 2007.
This election, Louisville-based businessman and conservative Matthew Bevin is challenging the long-time incumbent.
Both camps have been using advertisements to influence the state’s vote and Bevin, who announced his candidacy Wednesday, has gained support from Kentucky Tea Partiers.
