AIG plans to sue hedge funds over financial crisis

The American International Group Inc. is going after the banks that sold it some $40 billion of mortgage securities.

AIG, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, received some $85 billion from the government in 2008. Now it’s suing banks to recover some of the funds lost in the financial crisis that necessitated that bailout.
