Nancy Yousef is an Egyptian-American living in New York, where she is a professor of English Literature at the City University of New York, Baruch. She says that her life was on hold as she waited, like so many, for President Mubarak’s speech Thursday night. Following the president’s refusal to listen to the people, Yousef says she feels a little beat up. It is with anxiety and sadness, that she reflects on what she’s hearing from her friends and family in Egypt and how she thinks the events may play out.
