Amy Isackson

Amy Isackson is a freelance reporter who covers California’s U.S.-Mexico border, immigration and Tijuana. She has taken public radio listeners down into drug smuggling tunnels and out to sea in search of smuggling boats, among other places, and consistently seeks out people on both sides of the border whose lives are affected by border policy, immigration law and the realities of living on the border. Isackson strives to provide history and context in her stories to make events meaningful for listeners. Her work has been heard on NPR’s Morning Edition, All Things Considered, PRI’s The World and KQED’s The California Report. She majored in Latin American History at Williams College.
