Barack Obama has spoken openly about his support of equal rights for gay couples, but some are questioning his support for gay rights.

President Obama was subjected to jeers during a recent speech to the Democratic Committee’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Leadership gala in New York. He did not specifically endorse gay marriage, but he did talk about equality and progress. He also called on people to continue to support him.
Anna Sale, reporter for WNYC’s It’s a Free Country, who attended the Gala, talks about the event. And Washington correspondent Todd Zwillich talks about the issue.
