Land grab in Africa by global hedge funds, American universities

Global hedge funds are buying up huge tracts of land in Africa, hoping to make money off the commodity and food trade, and prominent US universities are taking part.

Harvard, Vanderbilt and other prominent US universities are taking part in deals to buy up large swaths of African land. The deals could affect global food prices in the future. Anuradha Mittal of the Oakland Institute explains the situation to The World.
