World Cup and Olympic slum crackdowns

In anticipation of the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, Brazilian police are making armed raids into the famous favelas or slums of Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil is trying to crack down on organized crime in Rio de Janeiro's favelas. There is criticism that the government is cracking down on only the slums near wealthy areas. The BBC's Paulo Cabral talks with The World about the political climate around the crackdowns and the repercussions.
