Rodrigo y Gabriela’s Cuban-Music Inspired ‘Area 52″²

For their new CD, Rodrigo y Gabriela traveled to Havana to re-record some of their own, earlier tunes with a 13-piece Cuban orchestra.

Mexican duo Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero, known as Rodrigo y Gabriela, are masters of the guitar.

They aggressively attack the strings like their heavy metals heroes.

They still do it on their new album “Area 52,” but they have help from a 13-piece Cuban orchestra.

The album was recorded in Havana.
