The explosion of a natural gas transmission line at San Bruno, California in 2010 killed 8 people and destroyed 38 homes. And there are more than 350,000 miles of natural gas pipeline in the US.

There are more than a third of a million miles of natural gas transmission pipelines in the U.S., and more to come. But sometimes they rupture, devastating homes and lives.
