Business Ties Top Priorities on Obama’s Mind in Tanzania

President Obama is in the East African country of Tanzania, on the last leg of his African tour. Trade and business are at top priorities of this trip. But in Africa, US companies have some stiff competition from China.

President Obama is in the East African country of Tanzania, on the last leg of his African tour.

Trade and business are the top priorities of this trip.

The President’s traveling with a group of US business leaders from Coca-Cola, General Electric and Microsoft, among others, in an effort to establish better ties with Tanzania and other African countries.

But in Africa, US companies have some stiff competition from China.

The Chinese have been aggressively developing economic ties with several African nations.

Tanzanian businesswoman, Mercy Muro, 32, would like to see the US invest in the technology and information area.
