The play takes place in the underground dance clubs of the 1950’s in Memphis, Tennessee and examines the interplay between culture, music and race.
The cast were all present for a panel discussion at WNYC’s Jerome Greene Space where Celeste moderated a discussion on race, ethnicity and culture. She spoke with the show’s writer, Joe DiPietro and the stars, Montego Glover and Chad Kimball.
