Jessica Jones reports on a vigil held in North Carolina for victims of Monday’s earthquake in China; many Chinese living in the United States want to find ways to help quake survivors.
Student organizers spread a big Chinese flag across the chapel steps and then arranged candles around the flag. Then a student spoke in Chinese and English. The somber crowd was in sharp contrast to the scene last month when a protest started between pro-Chinese and pro-Tibet students on campus. The student asks for donations that will go to the Chinese Red Cross. She says right now it’s hard to be so far fro home. An open air slide show projects scene after scene of the disaster. This Chinese student says she wants to go home to help. Those who have family members in Sichuan Province are feeling especially uneasy.
