Tibetan exiles worldwide long to see a free Tibet. The Dalai Lama has led their struggle for decades. Now he’s thinking about retirement. The World’s Mary Kay Magistad has the latest on the Dalai Lama, and Tibet’s uncharted future.
China has reacted to a week long meeting of Tibetan exiles in Dharamsala, India. It repeated its condemnation of the Dalai Lama accusing him of trying to break China apart by splitting Tibet away. The exiles’ meeting was called to talk about the future of Tibet and the role of the Dalai Lama. As Mary Kay Magistad reports, the exile community heard their leader say he may not be around much longer and they should plan for a future without him.
