The postal service in Jerusalem often gets letters addressed to God. Reporter Daniel Estrin visits with the man charged with opening that kind of mail and sneaks a peek at some of the letters.
In Jerusalem, this is a month charged with prayer. Muslims are fasting and praying every day for Ramadan. Jews have begun to recite nightly prayers of forgiveness in preparation for Rosh Hashanah. But all year round, prayers pour in to Israel from all over the world in the form of letters…and they show up in the hands of Israel’s postal service. Reporter Daniel Estrin sneaked a peak at the Department of Dead Letters in Jerusalem.
