The Sway Machinery is the latest “supergroup” to emerge on the indie music scene. Anchor Lisa Mullins tells us about the group, which recorded its debut album in Montreal.
We go from Toronto to Montreal for today’s Global Hit.
This is a new CD by the Sway Machinery.
It was recorded at the studio owned by the Canadian indie band, Arcade Fire.
In fact, a couple of the members of Arcade Fire are on the album.
So does the lead singer from another indie group, Balkan Beat Box.
The Sway Machinery has a strong indie-pedigree.
If fact critics call them an indie super group.
Here, the horn players from Antibalas and drummer from the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs are out front.
The Sway Machinery’s album “Hidden Melodies Revealed” comes out next month.
