Gassing Up

Boosters of natural gas say this low-carbon fuel could replace some of the dirtier coal and oil that powers the country, but questions about it keep bubbling up.

The Natural Gas industry says their home-produced product could help the country cut its CO2 emissions and oil imports. The fuel is cleaner than coal and newly discovered deposits here in the U.S. promise more supply and lower cost. But so far the Obama Administration is taking a pass on gas.
