A federal judge in Washington, D.C., will hear the case of 17 Chinese Uyghurs who have been held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for seven years and want to be released on parole in the United States. Though the government cleared them for release in 2004, they can’t be returned to China for fear that they will be tortured. No other country will take them.
