India is reeling from the shock of the terror attack in Kashmir last week. Gunmen opened fire on tourists, killing 26 men, mostly Hindus. Tourists have been targeted many times in Kashmir’s long, bloody history, but this is the deadliest attack in two decades. And it comes amid a strong push by the Indian government to promote tourism in the region. The rising tourist numbers helped Kashmir’s economy.
