Mia is an adjunct professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism teaching courses in intro to news writing and reporting, voiceover, and advanced podcast production. Multimedia projects include Distillations – an award-winning chemistry podcast, Stories from the Field – mini-oral histories about women in science, and the Wesleyan Storytelling Project. She’s also founder of Freelance Café, a support, networking, and resource web site for independent media producers nationwide. Mia received a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Wesleyan University and a Masters of Journalism from UC Berkeley. She lives in the Hudson Valley, NY with her husband and two sons.
