Maura R. O'Connor is a freelance journalist based in New York City. Her work has appeared in Time.com, The Washington Post, Columbia Journalism Review, The Times of India and The New York Post, among other publications. She spent seven months in Sri Lanka working for The Sunday Times based in Colombo. She was born in Boston, Mass. and graduated from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 2008.
