Luis F. Mancheno

Luis Mancheno is a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Immigration Justice Clinic at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He received his J.D. cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2013. Luis worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Refugee Status Determination Expert in the Dominican Republic in 2012. After graduation, he worked for a year as a staff attorney for the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project in Arizona where he represented men and transgender women who were detained, seeking asylum and facing removal proceedings on the US-Mexico border. Most recently, he was selected as part of the inaugural class of Immigrant Justice Corps Fellows in New York and worked from 2014 to 2016 as an Immigration Attorney at The Bronx Defenders representing detained people in immigration and federal court.
