Lex Weaver is the Audience Development and Social Media Manager at The World and GBH News, leading all social media and audience engagement initiatives. She also works on The World’s editorial team, editing digital stories and working with reporters and freelancers daily. Lex works extensively on The World’s Global Classroom, funded by the Lumina Foundation, and on The World’s partnership with Out of Eden Walk, National Geographic. She also writes the daily newsletter.

Before coming to The World, Lex was a Poynter-Koch fellow and editor-in-chief at The Scope: Boston, a local news outlet with a social justice lens. At FRONTLINE’s Impact department, Lex worked extensively on the Un(re)solved tour and supported public programming for FRONTLINE films. She has also worked for the Associated Press’ Elections tabulation team.

Lex holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in English and art history from Rutgers University.
