Kevin Douglas Grant

Kevin Douglas Grant is the co-founder and managing editor of The GroundTruth Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to training the next generation of foreign correspondents in the digital age. It is focused on the issues of social justice including human rights, freedom of expression, emerging democracies, the environment, religious affairs and global health.Grant co-launched GroundTruth while senior editor of Special Reports at GlobalPost, producing award-winning series and continuing coverage from around the world. He holds an M.A. in online journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School, where he was a Dean's Scholar and the founding executive editor of Annenberg's thriving 24/7 news organization Neon Tommy.Grant is the former operations director of semantic news analyzer Inform.com. He holds a B.A. in International Studies from DePaul University and has appeared on NBC News, Salon.com, American Public Media, National Public Radio, Religion News Service, Huffington Post, LA Daily News, Columbia Journalism Review, PBS NewsHour and Truthdig.He is the winner of a 2013 Society of American Business Editors and Writers Best in Business Award, a 2013 Knight Grant for Reporting on Religion and American Public Life, 2014 Association of Health Care Journalists' First Place Award for Excellence in Health Care Journalism as well as a 2014 ICFJ International Reporting Fellowship for Promoting Excellence in Global Coverage of Religion and the 2014 Religion Newswriters Association's Online Religion Section of the Year.
